The Executive Cjairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon . Sunday Benson, has declared that Imota will support the re-election of the incumbent representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr ) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), for a second term.
In the same vein, he also called for the return of the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon.Gbolahan Ogunleye for another term, stating that it is important for the council chairmen in Ikorodu, to have the duo returned to the Assembly.
At the moment, Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun represents Ikorodu Constituency II comprising Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Ijede and Imota LCDAs, while Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA) is representing Ikorodu Constituency I comprising of Ikorodu Central, lkorodu West and lkorodu North.

Hon. Benson made the declaration during a courtesy visit by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) led by its Coordinator in Ikorodu Division, Comrade Japheth Odesanya.
”My advise whenever I have the opportunity is that we should return the two Assembly men representing Ikorodu Constituency I and II. They deserve a second term.
”We must not create unnecessary crisis or allow some people to create problems for us. If they have some grey areas, let’s address them and move.
”I have told our delegates in Imota, that we are not contesting for the Assembly position rather, we are working with the incumbent and ensure that he’s returned to the Assembly”, he declared.

While explaining why representatives of APC must be returned, Hon. Benson warned against any delegate going against the decisions of the party at the forthcoming primary elections.
”As a chairman, you must have your own people in the House of Assembly, because without that, the chairman suffers.
”If you are now seeing yourself as a demi god because you have been nominated as a delegate and go against what we ask you to do, you will not get such opportunity again when another opportunity comes . The party is supreme and you will still come back to us.
”If we nominate you to vote for a particular candidate in the House of Representatives primary election and you insist on being paid first, you will be duly marked for the affront on the party. You were not there when we agreed on you to be one of our delegates.

”This is also applicable to delegates for Senate, Governorship and Presidential primary erections”.
The council boss also hinted that the party might adopt the consensus system for its primaries.
”In fact, we are going to adopt consensus in our primaries just like we did at the state and council congresses. This is also like a direct primary and it’s preferable.
”Since there is no returning for the Governor, our party leader would resolve the issue of our candidate at the appropriate time. He will also resolve the issue in Osun and other states, because he is gifted and annointed by God. So, there is no need fighting over anything”.
